The South-Korean automaker is planning to embark on a launch spree with as many as three new models already spotted on test in India
Hyundai is readying multiple new models for the Indian market, which are slated to launch in the next 8-12 months. A few of these upcoming Hyundai cars have been spotted testing on the roads in recent times. While the brand is testing some new-gen cars, it has also begun the testing process of a few mid-cycle facelifts of its existing model line-up. So, in this piece, we will talk about the upcoming Hyundai cars spotted on test in India.
1. New-Gen Hyundai Venue
The new-gen model of the Venue compact SUV will be launched on Oct 24, 2025 in the Indian market. However, ahead of the official launch, it has been spotted testing on numerous occasions with full and partial camouflage. The new-gen Venue will get a radical makeover in terms of styling, cabin and features. Notably, it is believed to come with Level 2 ADAS tech with an array of advanced safety features.
Mechanically, the new-gen Venue will continue to carry the current crop of petrol and diesel engine: 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.0L turbocharged petrol and 1.5L diesel. The transmission choices are also likely to be retained from the present model. Though Hyundai might introduce the iMT gearbox with the diesel fuel trim. It will rival Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Skoda Kylaq and Tata Nexon in the Indian market.
2. 2026 Hyundai i20 Facelift
The new-gen Hyundai i20 was recently captured on camera for the first time in Gurgaon (Haryana) and it could debut by mid 2026 in our country. The ongoing version of the hatch went on sale nearly three years back in 2022. The fully camouflaged test mule was missing out on roof rails. We expect the new-gen model to come with significant design updates.
The i20’s arch rival Tata Altroz received its mid-cycle facelift earlier this year with several modern features. Hence, it is safe to assume that the 2026 i20 will also be more premium and upmarket than its predecessor. It is likely to feature the 12.3-inch dual-screen setup for driver’s digital display and central touchscreen infotainment system. It could also boast of Level 1 ADAS suite with 360 degree camera. At this point, we do not expect any mechanical changes in the new hatch.
3. 2026 Hyundai Verna
The fourth-gen Verna was launched in March 2023 and hence Hyundai is developing a mid-cycle facelift of the sedan for the Indian market. However, ahead of the official debut, it has been spotted as a test mule near the brand’s factory in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The spy-images indicate that design updates will be subtle in nature such as revamped bumper, newly-designed alloy wheels and refreshed front grille.
Inside the cabin, Hyundai could make major feature enhancements to make the sedan even more desirable and match the premium appeal of its competitors like Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus. For reference, the current-gen Hyundai Verna is available with 8-inch and 10.25-inch touchscreen systems but the new-gen model could feature the bigger 12.3-inch dual screen setup. The rear seats could also get the ventilation feature in the new version. The engine options and gearbox choices are likely to see no change at all.

4. Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift
Launched in Feb 2023, Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric sedan will soon get a facelifted version in the Indian market. It has already been unveiled in global markets but the India-spec model is likely to go on sale by early 2026. Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift gets visual updates, enhanced comfort creatures and longer range. The battery pack is bigger than before and hence delivers driving range of more than 500+ km on a single change. It is the brand’s flagship electric model in India, followed by the Creta EV.
